Betty Joan (Mark) VuginFebruary 26, 1930 ~ May 6, 2009Resident of Pleasanton Betty passed away unexpectedly May 6, 2009 at the age of 79. She touched many lives with her sincere, gentle, caring, and loving spirit. All admired her positive outlook on life and how she made each person feel so very special. She was born in Venice, California and graduated from Venice High School in 1948. After graduation she moved to the East Bay where she was introduced to George Vugin of Oakland, California, by mutual friends when she worked at the telephone company. They married March 5, 1949 and raised 5 daughters in Hayward, California. She was a loving mother to Janet Davis, Laura Wood, Lisa Rayce, Joanna Pahl and Diana Viray; a doting grandmother to 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; loving sister to Karen Dulle and aunt to many nieces and nephews. She retired from Pacific Bell in San Leandro after 25 years of service and again retired after 14 years from Affordable Property Management in Union City. All who knew Betty are grateful and blessed to have been loved by her. Friends and family are invited to the Celebration of Betty's Life, May 9, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Boulevard, Hayward, California.
