For many years, the couple shared a common passion of traveling, and explored in and out of the country together. Over time, they welcomed six children into their home and both parents set about instilling family values. Her children remember their mother as a passionate woman who took great pride in her own work.Betty pursued multiple talents, but was most recognized for her cooking and baking. Although she never mastered American food, she specialized in Filipino, Hawaiian, Japanese, and Chinese cuisines. She showed joy and eagerness through the many hobbies she took part in—such as gardening, attending cooking and baking classes, creating “how-to” crafts at the local Senior Citizen Center, and, the most joy came from, gambling at the tables in Las Vegas. She was an avid bowler for many years with the Hawaiian Imua Club, and, then, later joined the Senior League.Betty will be known for her ease with striking up conversations, even with total strangers, as well as her contagious smile and entertaining sense of humor. Her signature gift of joy will forever be remembered through the countless number of songs that have been sung by her.
