Betty A. Hitchcock Daughtrey a Castro Valley resident entered into rest Friday, November 16, 2001 in Castro Valley. Born in Peoria, Illinois on February 2, 1918, she was 83 years of age. Betty was the President of San Leandro High School PTA. She was PEO of Chapter MO. She served as a Deaconess for the First Presbyterian Church in San Leandro. She was a devoted donor to the Oakland Museum of California for 20 years. She was a homemaker for 57 years. Loving mother to Richard Hitchcock of San Lorenzo, Robert Hitchcock of Palm Springs, Douglas Hitchcock of Davis and Donald of Napa. Devoted grandmother of nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. C.R. "Ted" Hitchcock preceded her in death in 1981 after 42 years of marriage. Keller Daughtrey preceded her in death in 1998 after 15 years of marriage. A private Graveside service will be held at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward.
