Betty Bissell's Obituary
BISSELL Betty Kay Bissell passed away suddenly on May 18, 2006. She was sixty-four years old. Betty lived in Hayward all her life, graduating fromHaywardHigh School in 1959. She met Thomas Roger Bissell at a dance in 1959 and they were married in 1961. Betty and Tom enjoyed spending time together inYosemiteNational Park , making an annual trip for over forty years. Betty spent many years teaching in theHaywardUnifiedSchool District , most of that time was spent as a special education teacher atEastAvenueElementary School .Betty was a wonderful mother to her children, Tom Bissell III, Becky Parsons and her husband Heath, Deborah Bissell, and a loving Nana to two grandchildren, Kristen and Cole Parsons. In addition to her husband, children, and grandchildren, Betty is survived by her brother, Brian Culbertson and his wife, Donna; her sister, Barbara Culbertson and her partner, Merry Maloney; her brother-in-law, Tim Bissell and his children, Kym Hayward and Marcie Herzog; and all of her extended family. She touched the lives of all who knew her and will be sorely missed. Family and friends are invited to the CHAPEL OF THE CHIMES MEMORIAL PARK AND FUNERAL HOME, 32292 Mission Blvd. Hayward, CA to attend the visitation on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at 1:30 PM with Funeral Service to follow at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made in Betty's name to the American Cancer Society at 1-800-ACS-2345.
