BETTY J. (LETT) ANDERSONDied on July 3, 2004. Betty was born on November 11, 1931 in Lansing, Michigan to Rosetta and Fay Lett. She was a graduate of Sexton High School and attended Michigan State University. She moved to Detroit, Michigan and began a career working for the Federal Government. Later she moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and graduated from Mitrana School of Modeling. In addition to being a successful model, she taught modeling at Mitrana while working at the U.S. Signal Corps.After moving to Detroit, Michigan she was married to the late Dr. Edward J. Anderson. They had a daughter named Kim. Betty worked side by side with her husband as an Office Manager establishing one of the most successful dental practices in Detroit, Michigan. After retirement, they moved to Phoenix, Arizona.Betty moved to Hayward, California two years ago to be near her loving daughter Kim and son-in-law Saravanan Agasaveeran. Her greatest joy was her family. She loved her daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren, Amar and Anita. She was constantly thinking of them and what she could do to make them happy.Shortly after moving to Hayward, she joined Palma Ceia Baptist Church. Palma Ceia was her second love. She often said that the members were an extension of her family. She joined a bible class, the Prayer Warriors and the Cancer Support Group. Betty also held a very special place in her heart for the members at Bethesda Community Church in San Jose where she attended services with her daughter Kim. Betty enjoyed life to the fullest and thanked God for her many blessings. She was an avid golfer and traveled extensively around the world. She was a believer in taking good care of her body and mind by exercise, a healthy diet and being active in her church and community. She said "Its not how many years you live, but how you live those years by loving and helping others and making an impact on their lives with words of wisdom to help them through their journey here on earth."She will be dearly missed by all who knew her kind spirit and loving ways.She is survived by her daughter Kim, son-in-law Saravanan (Sarav), grandson Amar Edward, granddaughter Anita Rose, brother Gerald (Bill) Lett, sister Patricia (Lett) Pickett, brother-in-law Alvin, brother-in-law Marcus Metoyer, stepson Edward J. Anderson, step granddaughter Faith, and stepgrandson Darius, three step great-grandchildren as well as a host of aunts, nieces, nephews and many good friends.The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent in her memory to Pathways Hospice.
