Mrs Bernarda De Guzman Prestoza's Obituary
It is with profound sadness that Chapel of the Chimes announces the passing of Bernarda Prestoza, born on March 12th, 1940.
On Mother's Day, May 12th, 2024, at 84 years old, Bernarda quietly slipped away from her earthly bonds and gently entered into eternal rest. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years Tito Prestoza, her four children and their spouses, seven grandchildren, and great-grandson as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Her six siblings preceded her in death.
Bernarda worked for the County of Alameda for almost 30 years, primarily as an Auditor Appraiser before her retirement in 2003. She was devoted to her Catholic faith and spent many years volunteering at All Saints Church in Hayward and for the St. Vincent de Paul Society. She was an avid gardener with a large variety of plants and flowers surrounding her home. Bernarda cherished spending time with her family and friends, enjoyed traveling both in the US and abroad, and delighted in singing, dancing and going on walks with her husband.
Bernarda was compassionate, caring, exuded a positive energy and reassuring presence. Her legacy is etched in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be forever loved and greatly missed by her devoted family and friends.
