Dr. Bernard Siegel's Obituary
SIEGEL Dr. Bernard Siegel Bernie Siegel passed away on May 20, after a brief illness. His devoted family was at his bedside from the very beginning. Bernie was a true family man. He adored his wife, Loretta, with whom he shared a lifetime of joyous experiences. He treasured his children, Alison and Wesley, and his precious grandson, Lino. A Giants baseball fanatic since his teen years, he instilled a love for the game in Lino. Bernie, Wesley and Lino were a happy threesome at the games. He shared a special bond with his son-in-law Dago Sanchez. Also survived by loving brothers, Seymour (Dorothy) Siegel, Arnold Siegel; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.Bernie received his Ph.D in physical chemistry from Brooklyn Polytechnical Institute. His research papers were studied all over the world. He was passionate about art and loved attending auctions and collecting the masterpieces of renowned artists, both local and international. His art critiques and knowledge were well respected in the art community. Friends and colleagues found him fascinating because of his exuberance for art, life and his family. We loved being with him because of his honest, loyal and thoughtful ways. We treasured our precious Bernie and will love him forever. Funeral Service 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at TEMPLE BETH SHOLOM, 642 Dolores Avenue ,San Leandro, interment to follow at CHAPEL OF THE CHIMES MEMORIAL PARK AND FUNERAL HOME, 32292 Mission Blvd. Hayward, CA. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Dr. Peter Greenberg's Hematology Research at Stanford University Medical Center, checks made payable to 'Stanford University' c/o Office Medical Development, 2700 Sand Hill Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025.
