Benjamin Reyes Tolentino Sr.
December 20, 1930 - March 14, 2023
Benjamin Reyes Tolentino Sr. passed away peacefully on March 14, 2023 at 1:10 AM at the age of 92 at the Regional Medical Center at San Jose, CA after a decade long battle of COPD. He was born on December 20, 1930 in Guinawedan, Alcala, Pangasinan, Philippines to Baltazar and Candida Tolentino. He married Emelia Ponio on June 1, 1955 and they were blessed with 8 children. He went to UP Los Banos and enrolled in agriculture as his degree. After college he went back to his hometown of Alcala and continued his passion in farming for over 30 years. He served as a Councilman and became an OIC Barrio Captain. The following election he got landslide victory as a Barrio Captain in his beloved town of Alcala. Benjamin (also known as “Doming” by his friends) came to the U.S. in 1991 and lived in the Bay Area with his wife and five daughters. He has lived a long, fulfilling life between the Philippines and the U.S. where he cared tirelessly for his grandchildren. He’s survived by his six children: Baltazar (Talyong), Merlita (Patty), Flordeliza (Oyeng), Paulita (Oyet), Shirley (Selling) and Melinda (Dang); in-laws: Emmanuel (Boy), Rosita, Dolores and Al; grandchildren: Tracy and Ross, Margaret and Jun, John Paul, Nikko, Tashkeen, Monica & JP, Ronnie and Ynez and Brent; great grandchildren: Abigail, Matthew, Reginald, Rexton, Jayret, Dillon, Kurt and Mayriel. He will be joining his wife, Emelia (deceased), son, Benjamin Jr. (deceased) and daughter, Adela (deceased) in heaven. Benjamin lived his life to the fullest until his last day with his family. He will be missed and his memories will stay in our hearts forever and never be forgotten. We love you Tatang! His service will be at the Chapel of Chimes in Hayward. The visitation is from 4:00 PM to7:00 PM on Friday, March 24, 2023. His final resting place will be at Santuario de Santo Nino Memorial Park in Alcala, Pangasinan.
