It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Beena Mathur wife of the late Mr. Naresh Shankar Mathur, born on September 13, 1941, in Aligarh, India. Beena passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025, in Castro Valley, California.
Beena was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, teacher, and friend. She touched countless lives with her kindness, wisdom, and generosity. As a teacher, she was deeply admired not only for what she taught, but for the way she made others feel. One former student shared: “She played such a big role in building my confidence and recognized my potential before I did.”
Beena and Naresh were truly soulmates—a match made in heaven. Their love was unwavering, and their bond, even after 18 years apart, remains an inspiration. We find comfort in knowing that their reunion is as beautiful as the life they built together.
Those who knew her will always remember her selflessness and her willingness to help anyone in need. She embraced people from all walks of life and made everyone feel welcome. Most of all, she spread love and positivity, always reminding her children to think good thoughts and never dwell on the bad.
Beena was also a woman of many talents. She was an exceptional cook, a joyful singer who loved to share her voice, and a gifted artist with a special talent for knitting sweaters and hats for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her legacy is one of love, positivity, and gentleness. Her presence brought comfort and confidence to those around her, and her family will forever treasure her spirit, her laughter, and the lessons she lived by.
Beena is survived by her daughter Archana and son-in-law Ravi, along with their children, grandchildren Ankur and Nikhil, granddaughter-in-law Divya, and great-grandchildren Ishaan and Riyaan.
She is also survived by her son Arun and daughter-in-law Tina, grandchildren Jasmine and Asha, step-grandchildren Elena, Michael, Rodrigo, and Tino, and great step-grandchildren Danny, Maya, Maleah, and Janiyah.
In addition, she is survived by her brother Jeewan and sister Ranjana.
