BARBARA JEAN RODRIGUES's Obituary
Barbara Jean Rodrigues was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, on November 3, 1935. She met and wed her husband of 60 years, Henry, in 1958. They purchased their first home in 1963 in Newark, California, and later settled in Fremont where they raised their three children, Keith, Michael, and Donna.Barbara will be remembered by her regular involvement in the lives of her friends and family. Nothing was more important to her than her relationships with the people she loved. She authentically lived out this truth by being an active participator in their lives—supporting their dreams and delighting in their passions. The list of events she attended in support of her family and friends is immense, and the time invested will forever be written on their hearts. Barbara had a reverence for God and delighted in being a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Tracy. She had an adventurous spirit, often traveling or taking her RV to go camping with friends and family. Other days, one could catch her standing in front of the TV, intently following her “stories.” Loved ones could indulge her with a few rounds of Spinner, Nines, or Mexican train dominoes; small moments such as these irreplaceable in how they captured her humor and personality. She will be remembered by the wonderful food she cooked and how she ate chicken to the bone, teaching us to always be grateful; to never be wasteful; and—more directly—to laugh. Through her physical, mental, and spiritual strength, she is remembered by how simply and gladly she lived all of her days. There is no doubt that she experienced a full life in love and joy towards family and friends, never taking a moment for granted.
