Barbara Ann Cross' Obituary
Barbara Ann Lowry Cross was born in Hays, Kansas on February 25, 1935. She entered Heaven to live forever with her Lord on Thursday, January 18, 2018.Barbara married the love of her life; Donald William Cross on September 24, 1955. A dedicated wife and loving mother, Barbara spent her life serving her Lord and her family. Barbara was active in her church; taught Sunday School for over 25 years and memorized over 500 Bible verses. She often quoted scripture that she had learned to rely on for peace, comfort and instruction.Raised in Denver, CO, she often referred to Colorado as “God’s Country” and the Broncos were her number one team. Barbara took great interest in geneaology and spent many vacations furthering her research about her family tree. She was known for her organizational skills and gift of hospitality, hosting annual Christmas parties for friends and family. She and her husband Don were very active in the San Leandro District of the California Republican Assembly.Barbara is survived by her four daughters: Cheryl Key of Houston, Janis (and Brian) Lewis of Livermore, Nancy (and Richard) Robotham of Chilliwack, British Columbia and Rochelle (and Tim) Wilson of Olympia WA; nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Donald William Cross, her parents Floyd and Freda Lowry and her sisters Nancy Dixon and Doris Martindale.The family is hosting a celebration of Barbara’s life on Friday, January 26 at 10:30 a.m. at Chapel of the Chimes (32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward) in the Mission Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimer Association or American Cancer Society.
