Aurea Berrios' Obituary
Aurea Berrios (February 27, 1933 – December 21, 2016)Our beloved Mom and Nana went to meet her Savior on December 21, 2016 after battling dementia.Aurea was born in Adjunta, Puerto Rico, the eldest girl of 18 children. She loved tending to her yard and would often receive compliments on her beautiful plants and flowers. Aurea enjoyed cooking her favorite Puerto Rican dishes, shopping, joking, garage sailing, loving her pet birds, sneaking a cigarette on her front porch and indulging in sweet treats even though she was a diabetic. She was also quite the fashionista and never missed the opportunity to dress up.Aurea will be missed by her loving daughters, Luz Hawkins (David) and Elizabeth Wheeler (Brad), her adoring grandchildren, Elise, Ashley, Taylor (JeanMarie), Joseph and Elisa, as well as her great grandchildren, Izaiah and Zayne, her siblings, Tony, Margarita, Elias, Isabel, Nelly and Armindo, her ex-son-in-law, Dan Fink and several nieces and nephews.Aurea was preceded in death by her parents Antonio and Petra, her loving husband Raymond, as well as her several siblings. The family would like to thank the staff at Tracy Nursing and Rehabilitation for taking such wonderful care of her throughout this difficult journey. A special thank you goes to Aurea’s long-time primary care physician Dr. Stanley Ng, who has ALWAYS been there for her.
