Audrey Carmine's Obituary
Audrey (Mehlhaff) Carmine August 9th, 1934 – June 22nd, 2015 Resident of San Lorenzo, CAAudrey was born to Theophil and Elisabeth (Neuharth) Mehlhaff at Eureka, South Dakota on August 9th, 1934. She moved with her parents and sister to Aberdeen, South Dakota in 1944. She graduated from Central High in 1953, after and 1 year and 6 months of college she married Chester Carmine Jr. of Aberdeen, South Dakota. Once married, they moved to the East Bay of California, where they settled and raised a family.After living in Oakland, the family moved to a home in San Lorenzo, CA. Audrey’s time was spent as a housewife; mother; and active volunteer at church, Cub, Brownie and Girl Scounts; and until Chet’s retirement in 1985, was active with the Epilepsy Foundation of Northern California.She has been a member of Christ Lutheran Church of San Lorenzo since 1962.Audrey had a love of flower gardening, painting and playing the piano.Audrey is survived by her son Dr. George E. Carmine, son-in-law and daughter William and Carla M. (Carmine) Conklin III, grandchildren William E. Conklin IV and Elisabeth M. Conklin, and sister, Sylvia Mehlhaff.She was preceded in death by her husband Chester Carmine Jr. and her parents.We are appreciative of the dedicated care she received from Oak Creek Alzheimer’s & Dementia Care.
