Arvel Wayne Hill, born Tuesday December 28th, 1937 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Entered into Rest on Saturday September 28th, 2013 in Redding, California. Age 75 years.Arvel is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Juanita Olivia Howard-Hill, and by his children, Alice, Gene, April, Wayne Jr, and Jeff; sisters, Maxine and Linda, and a brother, Elliot. Also survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his father, Arvel Brently Hill of Texas, and by his mother, Alice Minerva Wood Siegal of Arkansas.Arvel graduated from San Lorenzo High School. He worked as a baker for Sunshine Biscuits Co. for 39 years. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in San Mateo, California, for many years. Upon relocating to Redding, California, he and his wife joined St. Mark’s M.B.C. He was a master craftsman in painting, wood work and cement work. As a country-western music fan, he soon earned the nickname “Cowboy”, while also enjoying his photography hobby. His family and friends will greatly miss his gentle soul and quiet spirit.Visitation was held on Saturday, October 5th, 2013, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, with a Funeral Service at 12:00 pm, at Trinity Baptist Church, 39 E. 39th Avenue, San Mateo, CA 94403.Private Inurnment will follow at a later date.
