Arturo Salgado Presa's Obituary
Arturo Salgado Presa a veteran of the Vietnam war has completed his earthly journey and peacefully joined the Lord on April 6th, 2025, surrounded by family. Tureng as he was known to many was born on April 8th, 1940, in the town of General Trias, Cavite, Philippines to the late Pedro and Nieves (Salgado) Presa. He was the eldest of nine siblings.
Tureng proudly served the U.S. Navy for 24 years dedicating himself to a life of service and honor. He was recognized for his honorable service with a National Defense Service medal, multiple commendations, Presidential Unit Citations, and several conduct medals. He saw actions in Vietnam and shared many stories of his time in service.
Tureng married his childhood friend and soulmate Eufrocinia (Nene) Presa whom he spent 60 blissful years together. They were blessed with three children, Wilbert (Willy), Janice, and Flavian (Bong). He adored his grandchildren and together with Nene raised them with much love and affection. His passions included basketball, gardening, cooking, and listening to Bandang Matanda and mariachi music.
Tureng finds eternal rest with the Lord reunited with his twin brother, Angelo, his parents, his firstborn son, Willy, and his brother Fernando. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin, uncle, nephew and friend. He was a well-respected man by those who knew him. Many will remember him for his unwavering love, kindness and generosity.
He leaves behind a lasting legacy of love and devotion, survived by his beloved wife, Nene; their children Janice and Bong, son-in-law Tom (Caballero), and daughters-in law Day and Anna; his grandchildren William & wife Dana, Nia, Jamy, Zhenee, Thomas, Jared and Xavian; as well as his siblings Cecilio, Belinda, Amelita, Regino, Elizer, Mariniza and their spouses; Belinda, Jaime (Estrella), Benny (de Castro), Nelia, Marilyn, Edwin (Fernando), and Lourdes.
