ARTHUR JULIUS KUFELD's Obituary
Arthur J. Kufeld Resident of San Lorenzo, California September 25, 1933 – October 19, 2016 Arthur was born and grew up in Oakland, California. He graduated from Castlemont High School and was drafted into the Army in 1953. While stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington he met his future wife of 60 years, Mary Lou DeBevoise. Upon discharge from the Army they moved to San Lorenzo to raise a family. Art was a life long Retail Clerk, first working with his brother-in-law, Steve Thompson, and then for P & X and Flair Markets. After retiring he went back to work as a store merchandiser first for Market Wholesale, then Kelley Clark and finally Acosta. He enjoyed outings with his grandchildren, worldwide travel, and spending time with family and friends. He also enjoy bowling, golfing, making trips to local casinos, and meals at Elio’s. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Lou and sister Eva. He is survived by his devoted children Richard, Robert, and David and loving daughters-in-law Carole MacKenzie and Melinda Flowers Kufeld: grandchildren, Jennifer Kerry, Kelly, Matthew, Kyle, Megan, Zachery Kufeld: great-grandchildren, Ryan and Abigail Kerry: and many beloved nieces and nephews. His sister, Pam Wobig and family of Henderson Nevada also survive him.Friends and Family are invited to a memorial service Sunday November 20, 2016 from 2:00 to 3:00pm at Christ the King Church 1301 Mowry Ave. Fremont, California. A reception will be held at the church fellowship hall following the service.
