Arnoldine Winifred Walker's Obituary
ARNOLDINE WINIFRED WALKER (Arnie) age 77 of Lathrop, California graduated to heaven from the comfort of her own home on Wednesday, January 22, 2020. Arnie was born on August 13, 1942 in Medford, Massachusetts to the late James R. MacNaughton and the late Arnoldine W. Marts. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Jerry L. Walker. She is survived by her four daughters, Debbie Sopko, Wendy Walker, Jerilynn Walker and Julie Anne Rubio. Arnie has four grandchildren, Brandy Cantu, Troy Williams, Eryka Rubio, Karisa Rubio and many loving great-grandchildren.
Despite her hectic schedule raising her four daughters and husband, Arnie worked on yard duty at Schafer Park Elementary School in Hayward, where her daughters attended. When her girls got older, she worked at various trucking companies as a data entry/shipping and receiving administrator. She always said how much she loved talking with the truck drivers.
Arnie loved bowling and she bowled in San Leandro, Castro Valley and Dublin with her friend, Jessie, for 30 years. Arnie always bowled in her big socks because she couldn't bowl in shoes.
Arnie spent her honeymoon at Disneyland in 1961 and returned at least once a year. Along with loving Disneyland and bowling, she was an Oakland Raider football fan.
Arnie will be dearly missed. She not only was her daughters' mom, but the neighborhood mom as well. She loved being around the neighborhood kids and handing out Icee's on the hot summer days. She was a very special person full of love and personality. Arnie is now in a place where there is no Alzheimer's Disease, no pain and no tears.
Visitation will be held at the Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home, 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward, on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 11:30 am with services at 12:30 pm. The grave site service will be held at 2:00 pm.
In place of flowers, the family requests that you please donate to the Alzheimer's Association in her memory. The website is www.alz.org. Phone: 1-800-272-3900
