Arnold Angelo HernandezOctober 17, 1938 – March 12, 2018 Arnold lived in Newark, CA with his wife, Bea and beloved doggie, Dharma. He passed away at home March 12, 2018 at the age of 79. He was born in the Alvarado district of Union City. He met Bea Hernandez while attending Washington High School where he graduated in 1956. They married on October 26, 1962, in Oakland California, and had a son, Paul Hernandez of PA. After graduation he worked as a lithographer at a San Leandro printing company and was a member of the National Guard. Arnold continued to enjoy playing Triple A baseball for many years, joined a bowling league and he almost bowled a 300 game. He was an avid season ticket holder for the Oakland Raiders and attended two Super Bowl games. Arnold worked for ATT for 38 years until retirement in 1998. His retirement years were filled with hours of gardening, running at Coyote Hills, and of course, rooting for his number one team. He enjoyed traveling, ocean cruises, fishing and camping with family and friends. He loved his extensive family of nieces and nephews who visited with loving care, laughter and an occasional martini. He is preceded in death by his parents Rosemarie and Antone Hernandez, siblings Robert, Delores, Madeline, and Albert (Sonny) and survived by sisters Mercedes, Sophie, and many nieces and nephews, who thought the world of him. We hope this reflection of Arnold’s life, along with your own fond memories of him, will always bring you a smile. May you always lean on the truth that he devoted his life to sharing with anyone he could, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 God Bless you. Viewing will take place at Chapel of the Chimes at 32992 Mission Boulevard, Hayward, CA on Wednesday March 21st, from 10 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. with services beginning at 11:00 A.M. In the main Chapel, Reflection Chapel, with interment to follow.
