Antonia Silvia dela Paz SilacanSeptember 23, 1932 – March 29, 2015Antonia “Mommy Ning” dela Paz Silacan passed away peacefully on March 29, 2015 at the age of 82. She was born in San Miguel, Manila, Philippines, and has been living in Newark, California since March 2013.Mommy Ning was the beloved daughter of the late Benedicto dela Paz, Sr. and Simeona dela Paz; devoted wife of the late Bonifacio S. Silacan; and cherished sister to the late Lorenza Samson, Fausta Ramos, Juan dela Paz, Damiana Canu, Benedicto dela Paz, Jr., Lily dela Paz and Siony dela Paz.She leaves behind her one and only daughter, Ann Margaret Silacan Graybeal; two grandchildren, Angelica and Joshua Tyler Graybeal; her sisters Cornelia Estacion, Lucila Placino, Macaria Yatco and Carmen Castro, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a great friend to many.Mommy Ning devoted her life to her late husband Bon and her daughter Ann Marie and worked for 20 years as a real estate broker in Manila. In her younger years she played volleyball, enjoyed singing, dancing, cooking and spending time with family. She was a beautiful, loving, thoughtful, deeply religious and gentle lady, and was known for helping others and for praying incessantly. She lived an active and faith-filled life and will greatly missed by her family, friends and caretakers.Friends may visit Sunday, April 12, 2015 between 2:00 PM and 9:00 PM at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Boulevard, Hayward where Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm. Refreshments will be available at the Reception Hall during visitation. Funeral Mass is on Monday, April 13, 2015, 10:30 AM at St. Edward Church, 5788 Thornton Avenue, Newark.
