Anthony “Buddy” M. Alves May 17, 1923 Nov. 20, 2011 Resident of Fremont, CA Anthony “Buddy” Alves died peacefully in his sleep at his home in Fremont, on Sunday November 20, at the age of 88. Born in Merced County on May 17, 1923, on a dairy ranch owned by his parents, he was the youngest (and sole survivor) of ten children four brothers and five sisters. He was an Army veteran of WWII. Buddy is survived by his wife, Merla, and two daughters, Tonja O’Hare (of Santa Cruz) and Micalyn Hand and son-in-law Henry Hand (of Tracy). He was a loving husband and father and a friend to all who knew him. His outgoing personality, humor, and generosity will be remembered fondly by all. Memorial services will be held at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward, CA, on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 1:30p.m. Funeral service will be in the Reflection Chapel.
