I remember him as One of the most sincere, disciplined and respectful classmates/batchmates of University of Roorkee 1980 batch. I was reading some of his social work and I echo some of the earlier comments especially the one, “Your candle burned out too soon but the light of goodness you spread will glow forever in the hearts of everyone”. Hats off to you !!!! – Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai…
It is really sad to learn that AS left this world at such an young age. It is an irrepiarable loss to his family and friends. I being his classmate of Roorkee have very fond memories of him during the period 1976-80. He was such a gentleman. A great squash player. Never found him involved in any controversy during college days. Always with a smiling face showing depth, intelligence and elegance. He used to be one of the toppers of our class which itself was full of bright students from all across North India. He had a very good command on English and most of us particularly those from rural background were always in awe of him. I remember once he told me that though he is a Sardar but he can’t write Punjabi. Infact he was more fluent in English than in Punjabi. May God give strength to his family to bear such an unbearable loss. RIP. -Pradeep Kumar, Classmate of Roorkee, India
We shared a four year period as I am his class fellow in Engineering degree. His happy go getter image can not be forgotten. RIP. OPVarma Indian Railways
As a kid I recall the family singing praises of you so the image I had of you was established then…that of an intelligent, gentle ,caring Khurana boy who would go far in life…as I grew up and really got to know you,I realised how truly you lived up to all that and much more. Our interaction over the past years was mostly on your transit trips to cal-yet in such short visits you touched our hearts so deeply….Bitu Amu Nam and I looked forward to your coming as did your bhui in whose heart you held a special place.Your ever smiling face will be a constant source of inspiration -those laughter lines, that radiant smile those eyes filled with human compassion-your face clearly reflected your inner simplicity and warmth. To me you will always remain my brainy cousin,so caring,so affectionate and above all so wise.Once again I am reminded of these beautiful words: And It seems to me you lived your life like a candle in the wind Never fading with the sunset when the rain set in…. …and you whispered to those in pain Now you belong to heaven and the stars spell out your name… Yes dearest Ricky, though your candle burned out too too soon, the light you spread will glow in our hearts forever. love you loads…Rita

Anoop was my house-mate in both Colvin and BT house. I am glad that we were able to reconnect in CA last year after a long break. A gentleman to the core, always willing to give us a winning tip on the squash court, I will cherish the memories of playing squash and tennis with him in school. I am glad that I was able to see him last year in the Bay Area. May his soul rest in peace. Anoop was a true inspiration to many of us from our school days. Mohandas, fellow Mayoite (ex – 608)
Mild, self-effacing and reserved, with a beatific smile, he was a gentlemen’s gentleman. He radiated goodness, and was generous to all. He made his way in the world through diligence and hard work. In his youth he was a fine squash player -with that killer drop-shot- as he was mischievous and imaginative in raillery. He was the very personification of decency. This decency was as much genetic as personal, for he came from a fine family of personable and intelligent individuals. When all is said and done, he was a good man. Simply, a Good man!… Sandeep & Raja
Spent a few years at Mayo together. Soft spoken, caring, will always be remembered for the twinkle in his eyes and his smile. Lalit Kitroo
Anoop is an wonderful person coming from an amazing family. Last time i met him he told me ‘Gayatri, I can go anytime’. There were tears in my eyes but he was smiling. An ordinary person will never be able to say this kind of truth at ease. He was always proud to be from Odisha just like his mother ‘Mrs Inderjit Khurana’ who always considered Odisha as there motherland. This family has a lot of contribution to the welfare of the needy children of Odisha, India. And i salute them. We are very sorry! His family is in our prayers. May God shower the family lot of strength and may Anoop’s soul RIP.
