Anna Jergens' Obituary
July 29, 1932 Sept. 20, 2008 Anna was surrounded by her loving daughter as she passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home in Fremont at the age of 76 years after her courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Anna was born in Holland and at the age of five years she and her parents immigrated to Poland. Anna was a very strong woman with a great passion for life. As a survivor of the terrors of World War II, she became a secretary, bookkeeper and accountant for many years. She enjoyed reading the Bible, as well as history books. She loved dancing, traveling, cooking and being with family and friends. Anna married Edmund Slowinski and had two children, Danuta and Grzegorz. After Edmunds passing she remarried, then moved to the United States. Years later her husband passed away; she met a wonderful man named Ernest Jergens. Ernie and Anna had a wonderful marriage filled with laughter and joy. Anna took great care of Ernie in his later years with his battle against heart disease. In 2005 Ernie passed away of congestive heart disease. Anna was a very proud grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her two children, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was a great role model for many as a woman of integrity and known by many for her love, thoughtfulness and generosity. Anna will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
