Ann Daniels' Obituary
Jamilla “Ann” Stewart was born October 6, 1947 to the late Emanuel Sr. and Sallie Mae Stewart in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is the second of four children born to this union. She accepted Christ at an early age.Ann married Emanuel Daniels in 1964 and from this union three children were born: Lopaz, Alphonso and Jamilla Jr. Ann and Emanuel Daniels relocated to Rochester, New York with their two young boys then had their baby girl, Jamilla Ann Daniels Jr. “Ann” later worked at Eastman Kodak Park in Rochester for many years prior to relocating to San Francisco, CA where she worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant for over 30 years.Ann joined Palma Ceia Baptist Church in 1955. Ann was a faithful member who enjoyed singing in the choir. She was also very faithful in attending her Sunday School class and assisting with collecting and counting funds for Sunday School. Besides being one of the culinary cooks in the kitchen, she was also very active in the Women’s Mission, and often provided members with transportation, driving the church van to Sunday Services or Palma Ceia events. Whenever the church needed Ann, you can best believe she was always there. Ann was also instrumental in supporting the church Cancer Support Group and was very active in the Red Hat Society, The Divine Divas of Hayward.Ann enjoyed traveling and spending time with family, especially when in came to doing things with, and for, her grandchildren. One of her happiest moments in life was having the honor to witness the birth of her most recent Great Grandchild, Baby Natalie. She loved all her children and was very proud of their accomplishments and achievements.Ann departed this life on July 5th, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emanuel and Sallie Mae Stewart; her brother Emanuel Jr, her baby sistern Saleema, and niece Saleema Jr.Ann leaves to cherish her memory: two sons, Lopez (Shjuan), Alphonso (Beverly); her only daughter Jamilla (Vernon); ten grandchildren Ebony, April, Lopaz Jr, Tarasha, Canisha, Damien, Deontae, Deion and Michael; three great grandchildren Kora, Khalil and Natalie; one sister Rasheedah (Sergio); two nieces Miriam and Iesha; her childhood “bestie” Rebecca (Pumpkin); and a host of cousins and friends.Ann was a very loved and laid back young woman who was blessed to accomplish much in her life. She loved the Lord and was a true child of God.
