Andy D. Dirilo's Obituary
Andy Daffon Dirilo, 85, of Hayward California, peacefully passed away, Monday, November 26, 2018 surrounded by close family.Public viewing will be on December 14, 2018, Friday from 5:00 pm-9:00 pm with a memorial service at 7:00 pm. Venue is at Mission Chapel, Chapel of the Chimes, Hayward, CA. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at 12:00 noon.Andy was born on April 28, 1933 in Ormoc City, province of Leyte, Philippines. He later moved to Villasis, Pangasinan where he completed high school. He met Divina Racela who became his wife. He became a farmer in his 20’s growing rice, tobacco and vegetables. While farming, he enrolled at a tailoring school to learn the design of cutting. He then moved to Manila to continue his studies while working at a tailoring shop. Andy graduated from the University of the East with BS in Business Administration major in Accounting. Upon graduation he worked at (BAEX) Bureau of Agricultural Extension as the Regional Accountant and was later promoted to Regional Administrative Officer. In 1976, Andy was employed at Arsenal, a Department of National Defense. He held various positions such as: Senior Management Analyst, Financial Management Chief and Acting Comptroller.Andy migrated to the United States in 1982 with his family. He worked various jobs at Flextronics, Macys, Allergan, Luxor among others. With his deep faith in God, he was actively involved at Fil-Am United Church of Christ in Fremont and has served as Auditor, Moderator and other leadership roles. His love for God and the church was so evident that even during his last days, his thoughts were about her. His sickness resulted in a stronger faith in the Lord Jesus, a prayerful life and love for God’s Word.Andy is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Divina Racela Dirilo. They have four children: Miriam and husband Jessie Bienvenida, Dan Joel and wife Claudie, Levi Roy and wife Dinah Leah, Allan Genesis and wife Lorie. He has eight grandchildren whom he referred to as his pride and joy: Lexie and husband Vincent Carabillo, Sarah, Jerome, Claudine, Jodie, Jovin, Jadrien and Nicole. Andy is second from the eldest of six siblings: Preciosa (deceased), Benjamin, Romeo, Juan Jr (deceased), Wilfredo and Emmanuel (deceased). He is also much loved by his nephews and nieces. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, friend, and a faithful follower of the Lord Jesus Christ.
