Allan Carr's Obituary
Allan James Carr was born January 14th, 1942 to Nora McGregor and James Carr. He was the first born and proud big brother to Hazel, Kevin and Kathleen. He spent the beginning portion of his life in his hometown of Newcastle Upon Tyne. There, he met the love of his life, Yvonne.
Allan and his friend had a coworker’s wedding to go to, but no dates. They both spotted beautiful Yvonne who worked in a different department and flipped a coin to see who would get the honor to ask her. Allan won the toss and won her heart, a prize he has treasured his whole life.
They shared a love of music for the Animals, the Beatles, Dire Straits and Eric Clapton as well as time spent at the pub with their friends. They took a vow to spend their lives together in 1964. As their love grew, so did their family and they had 3 wonderful children, Dawn, Martin, and Daniel. In 1982, Allan was offered the opportunity to move his family to the States and thus his California dream began.
They made the move to Hayward, CA where he became a box dye-cut supervisor for Everett Graphics. Allan was a loyal employee for Everett Graphics for 35 years. In his free time, he was a man content with the simpler things in life; he loved the outdoors, a good IPA, history books, and the all-American muscle of Ford Mustangs.
He was a family man through and through, and spent many Thanksgivings and Christmases feeding his ever-growing family traditional English meals, his Yorkshire pudding being a favorite among everyone.
Allan loved his grandchildren Jazmin, AJ, and his wife, Amy. He also enjoyed time spent with his great-grandchildren Emerson, Lola and Jude. Allan never strived for flashy things, his sparkle came in the form of Yvonne; this year they celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. He was the kindest soul and not a bad word could be said of the patriarch of the family. Allan will be missed forever by his surviving family.
