Aliwina Alvarez Ramirez passed away surrounded by her loved ones at her bedside at St. Rose Hospital on June 9, 2016 in Hayward, CA at the age of 71 due to many health complications.Aliwina is survived by her children, Joel Ramirez, JoAn Ramirez Ramos, Jody Ramirez, and Jovy Ramirez; daughter-in-law, Rozlyn Ramirez; son-in-law, Armando Ramos; grandchildren, Josh Ramirez Ramos, Isaiah Ramirez Ramos, Donovan Ramirez, and Lauryn Ramirez – all of the Bay Area; and her brother, Amorico M. Alvarez of Cavite City, Philippines. She is preceded in death by her parents, Angel Rica Alvarez, Purificasion M. Alvarez; and her brother, Angel Alvarez Jr., of the Philippines, and her beloved husband Delfin Sahagun Ramirez of Hayward, CA.Aliwina was born on September 6, 1944 in Cavite City, Philippines. She graduated from Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines on June 1967 with a degree in Nursing. She was married on June 12, 1968 to Delfin Sahagun Ramirez, her childhood sweetheart, retired Vietnam Veteran of the US Navy as well as retired from the US Postal Service. They moved from Cavite City, Philippines to Mississippi in the late 1960’s and then to the Bay Area in the 1970’s where they raised their four children and lived happily for the rest of their lives.
