Alice P. Reis' Obituary
Alice (Parraga) Reis, 85, passed away October 12. Services on Sat., Oct. 31, 2:00 p.m., St. Joachim’s Catholic Church, 21250 Hesperian Blvd., Hayward. She was born September 30, 1930, to Mary (Correa) and Louis Parraga, and grew up in Kekaha, Kauai, Hawaii. She married Alfred Reis on Nov. 22, 1953. She and Al moved to California in 1957, where they made their home and raised their family. Alice was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, homemaker, cafeteria worker for the Hayward Unified School District, volunteered for senior centers in Hayward, Castro Valley and Alameda, loved to dance and was an avid Bingo player. Alice valued family and friends, was very generous and giving with her time and efforts. Survivors include her sons, Dennis (Union City), Dale and Mei (Hayward) and Ronald and Cynthia (Tracy); Grandchildren, Eric, Jacob, Kevin, Madeleine and Alissa; Siblings, Mary Ruiz, Louis Parraga, Jr. and Joseph Parraga. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Reis, and siblings Mildred Nakea and Antone Parraga. Alice’s cheerful way and lovely smile was a light that shined, and she will be greatly missed.
