Alice Marie Parker Pederson's Obituary
Alice Marie Parker Pederson born on September 12, 1929 in Hingham, MA and passed on August 30, 2017 in Hayward, CA. She was peacefully received into heaven by her loving husband, Goodwin “Pete” Pederson’s open arms.Our family is comforted knowing that he was waiting to reunite with her and take her home.Alice is survived by her three loving children, each of whom she was so proud, Joanne Volpe (Kip) of Tucson, AZ, Wendi Solesbee (Butch) of Fremont, CA and Scott Pederson (Kathleen) of Hayward, CA.She was blessed with two Grandchildren, Kari Kristine Hoskins Barrera (Manny) and Kellen Christopher Goodwin Volpe. She was Grandma Alice to five Great-Grandchildren, Greyson, Gavin, Margaret, Oscar and Anabele Barrera. She also is survived by her beloved nieces, Missy Abel and Cathy Parker, nephew David Van Campen, and numerous friends in Hayward, CA and Tucson, AZ.Alice was preceded in death by her five siblings: her beloved elder sister Mary Abel, her younger sister Peggy, her adoring brothers, Frances, Walter, and Edward, as well as her Parents, married in 1917, Frederick and Margaret Parker.The death of her beloved husband, Pete, in 1955, eventually prompted Alice to retire from her 25 year career with Kaiser Permanente in Hayward, CA. She moved to Tucson, AZ in 2001 where she looked forward to spending time with her grandson and making new friends. She enjoyed sharing meals, telling stories, road trips, jaunts to casinos, cruises, poker nights, pool parties, softball games, and of course, bragging about her children and grandchildren.Alice always had a dollar for the homeless and an ice cold bottle of water for the garbage man, the mail person, and the UPS driver. Her compassionate good nature, quick-witted sense of humor, and the love of life will be greatly missed.Alice will be laid to rest in a private graveside service at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward, California.
