Alice J. Ingram's Obituary
Alice J. IngramOctober 1, 1924 – September 8, 2017 Alice Ingram died peacefully at her home in San Ramon. She was born in Irwin, Iowa, the youngest child of Danish immigrants Peter and Mary Kjer. She moved with her family to Oakland in the early 1940’s and went to work for the American Trust Savings Company which eventually became part of Wells Fargo Bank. She retired from Wells Fargo in 1979 with 36 years of service. She made many friends and established long lasting relationships while working in the Fruitvale and Castro Valley branches.Through one of those friendships, she met Orville Ingram in 1965. She and Orville were married the following year. They shared a great love of travelling and sports. They held Oakland Raider season tickets for many years and were loyal fans to the Oakland A’s. They enjoyed trips made with the A’s boosters to away games. Even after Orville’s death in 1994, Alice followed her teams loyally. Along the way she also became a huge Golden State Warriors fan.In addition to Orville, she was predeceased by her nine brothers and sisters and her step-son, Jim Ingram. Alice is survived by her step-daughter, Kathy Regopoulos (George) of Washington, Utah, four grandchildren, Dirk Ingram, Andrea Ingram, Scott Hocker and Neal Hocker (Isabel), many nieces and nephews and their families.Alice displayed unconditional love and loyalty to her family. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, gracious hosting of many family gatherings and her resilience and inner strength.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) or the Salvation Army.
