Alfredo "Fred" Ermita Rodriguez, 80, of Hayward, California passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on September 15, 2023. Born on October 11, 1942, in Batangas, Philippines, he was a beacon of strength, warmth, and wisdom to his cherished family.
Fred was predeceased by his beloved wife, Tessie Lee Rodriguez, who left us on February 26, 2021. Together, they built a life defined by love, service, and purpose. He was a devoted father to his two sons, Alvin and Alfred Rodriguez, and a doting grandfather to AJ, Khy, and Rocco Rodriguez. Alfredo's bond with his siblings - Eding, Oscar, Jerry, Rosie, Peter, Ronnie, Nene, and Tess Rodriguez - was unwavering, and he held a special place in his heart for his many nephews and nieces.
Beginning his professional journey with Philippine Airlines, Alfredo made lifelong friends who became his family in the US. Alfredo eventually found his calling at the US Postal Service, where he faithfully served for 32 years before retiring in 2004. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Fred swapped tennis rackets for golf clubs over the years. More than his wins in local golf tournaments, it was the camaraderie and joy shared with buddies on the green that he cherished most.
A man of principle and boundless love, Alfredo instilled in his family the value of hard work and the importance of treating each other warmly. His life mission was straightforward yet profound: ensuring a better life for his family, filled with opportunities he forged through dedication and hard work.
A funeral mass service in honor of Alfredo will be held at St. Anne’s Parish on October 5th, 2023 at 1PM. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the support and love they've received during this time.
