Alfredo Esguerra Sr's Obituary
ESGUERRA, ALFREDO SR, 72Alfredo Datuin Esguerra Sr, 72, passed away Monday morning, October 31, 2016 after battling a lingering illness for months, at Alameda Hospital in Alameda, California. Opong as he was fondly called was born December 21, 1943, in Binmaley, Pangasinan, Philippines; He was the son of Agapito Esguerra and Perpetua Datuin. Alfredo was a reserved and a simple person. He was also fairly ambitious and wanted to be an Engineer but with limited family resources, his aspiration was not meant to be. With few options at hand, he followed his father’s footsteps and became a humble fisherman at a tender age. He subsequently married when he was 18 years old and started a family, which he treasured most. Driven passionately to succeed and armed only with unrelenting work ethic, he rose to become in his own right, a successful Fishpond Operator. His unfulfilled ambitions pushed him to realize his dreams through his children; he made it possible for all of his children to graduate from college. He was a just person, a giver, truly unselfish and devoted to the welfare of ordinary people like him, in whom at their presence he was most at ease. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Aurelia Soriano Esguerra along with 5 children; Almeriam/Cesar, Alodia/Edmund, Alfredo Jr/Ladilyn and Alpiu/Grace all of Alameda, California and Joselito/Elena of Wales, United Kingdom, special nieces Mylin Wyeth, Mylin Wynn and Mylin Welch, 8 Grandchildren, Acen, Jerwin, Joselito Jr, Lynne Audrey, Alfredo III, Allyson, Alexis and Alpiu Jr; his brothers and sisters and many other loving nephews, nieces and relatives. Memorial services for Alfredo D. Esguerra Sr will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 12, 2016 from the Chapel of Chimes Funeral Home (Mission Chapel) on 32992 Mission Blvd. Hayward Ca.
