Alfred J. Townes a Hayward resident entered into rest Sunday, February 24, 2002 in Hayward. Born in Sparks, Oklahoma on December 28, 1911, he was 90 years of age. He worked in construction / carpentry which was his first choice of work. After an injury he then sold insurance. He has been retired for 25 years. His hobbies included crossword puzzles and reading.Loving father of Patsy Simerley of Jamestown, CA. Dear brother of Billy W. Townes of Albuquerque, NM. Devoted grandfather of four grandchildren, six great-grand children and one great great-grandchild.Visitation will be held Thursday, February 28, 2002 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward. Friends are welcome to attend a funeral service Friday March 1, 2002 at 2:00pm in the Reflection Chapel at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home. Interment will be private in Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park, Hayward.ãService of Marked Distinctionä
