Alexander J. Klimaszewski Sr.'s Obituary
Alexander John Klimaszewski July 28, 1921 – December 10, 2016 Alex was born on July 28, 1921 in Chelsea, MA to Teofil and Marcella Klimaszewski. He was the second of three children and survived his sisters Bertha Liporto and Hedy Metsopoulos. He graduated in 1939 from Danvers High School in Massachusetts. In 1942 he joined the Navy and served for thirty years. After discharge he worked 18 years as a property clerk for the City of Hayward Police department. Alex married Cecile Gamache in 1943. They were married until she passed away in 1997. He is survived by four children Marcelle Silva, Linda Smith, Susan Wirkkala and Alex Jr. In 2000 Alex married Vera Santos. Alex has 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was a devout Catholic and attended services at Saint Clements in Hayward and St. John’s in San Lorenzo. Alex belonged to the Elks, the Moose Lodge, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. He loved dancing, traveling, painting keeping busy. Alex passed away peacefully on December 10, 2016. A memorial service will be held at Chapel of the Chimes on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 1PM.
