ALEXIS R. ALBANO's Obituary
A faithful child of God, Alex was born on November 8, 1943, in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, Philippines to Bernardo Albano and Fe Racimo. He had four brothers by the names of Melvin, Merlin, Dennis, and Walden.
Alex was an avid reader. He liked listening to classical and religious music. He also enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Alex finished college at National Teachers College in Laoag. He first taught at Union Elementary School in Manila where he met Evangelina Joaquin. They got married in 1968 and had two children named Phoebe and Aaron. The family migrated to the US in 1970. Alex worked as a teacher in Michigan and then in California.
Before retirement, he worked for the US Postal Service. He spent his retirement in Laoag and sometimes in Manila until he was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2016. After spinal cord surgery, physical therapy and rehab, the cancer progressed. He returned to the US for more medical attention in 2018. Ultimately, going through another round of spinal cord surgery and other medical procedures, he lost his battle to prostate cancer on August 4, 2021.
His family and friends will miss him dearly.
