Albert F. Neves' Obituary
Albert F. Neves Resident of San Lorenzo Albert F. Neves, 87, was born on December 27, 1923 in Livingston, CA and passed away December 22, 2011. Albert served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a barber for 60 years. For several years he owned a shop in Floresta Gardens, with his partner Paul Dianda. This was the kind of shop where they cut the hair of fathers, sons & grandsons. He finally retired at age 83. He’s survived by his daughter, Valerie Ramsey and grandson, Vince Ramsey of San Lorenzo and by his older brother, Myron Neves of Fairfield. He’s also survived by the love of his life for over 33 years, Audrey Fresia of San Lorenzo. He will be missed by her family (daughter, grandson, granddaughter, nieces & nephews) as they all loved him very much. Albert was active in the Native Sons of the Golden West Fruitvale Parlor 252, recently receiving his 50 year pin. He was affiliated with the American Legion Post 117 and many other organizations. He loved to dance and spent many weekends attending dances at the Italian clubs in the area. (He was not Italian by birth, but became an “Unofficial Italian”) If you knew Albert, you knew him to be a kind, helpful and loving man, with that very distinctive giggle. He was also very creative and a wonderful cook. He will certainly be missed by all who knew him. If you wish to say good-bye, please join us on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 11:00am at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward. The American Legion will perform a full Honor Guard ceremony. After the service, there will be a reception at the San Lorenzo Village Homes Association Community Hall, 377 Paseo Grande, San Lorenzo, at 12:30pm.
