Adrene Lewis' Obituary
Adrene Lewis was born in Columbus, Georgia, December 25, 1936. After a brief struggle with Cancer, she had her Home going on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at almost 82 years old.Adrene attended Spencer High School in Columbus, Georgia before departing for college in Connecticut. When she returned to Columbus in 1956, Adrene married a young Army Private, Calvin Lewis, whom she had met while still in high school. Upon Calvin completing his Army service, Calvin and Adrene moved from Ft. Leonard Wood Missouri, to Richmond, California.A God fearing, devoted mother and homemaker, Adrene was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family, most especially over the holidays. She worked seasonally at the Del Monte Cannery for over 30 years, but her passion was without question, her family who’s love for she would express and demonstrate with all her heart. As her family grew, Adrene did her best to stay abreast of the active lives of her children and grandchildren. With a sports loving family, she developed into a dedicated sports fan herself, attending and watching football, basketball, and baseball, games. Over the past several years, she even learned how the game of golf is played and enjoyed watching tournaments on the weekends. She especially loved watching the Summer and Winter Olympic Games.Adrene was predeceased by her sister, Grace Whittlesey of Columbus Georgia; sister, Mrs. Myrtstine Summers of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and brother, Rudolph Marshall, of Tampa, Florida.Adrene is survived by her husband of 62 years, Calvin Lewis; sons, Terrence Lewis and wife LaDreda, of San Diego, California; Mark Lewis of Pittsburg, CA; Darren Lewis and wife Raquel of Danville, California; Eric Lewis and wife Terranessa of Danville, California and Kala Lewis of Fremont, California; six grandchildren; 16 nieces and nephews; a Goddaughter; and host of other family and friends.A memorial service celebrating Adrene’s life will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018, at 5:00 PM at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward, California, 94544.
