Adelaida Adsuara Rafal's Obituary
Adelaida Adsuara Rafal, Inang, to those who loved her deeply was called to be with Our Heavenly Father on September 7, 2021. Inang was born on January 12,1930 in McKinley, Makati City, Philippines to Pacifico and Hilaria Adsuara.
She met Felix Rafal, a strapping young Military Police Officer, and fell in love. They got married on June 5, 1949 in Las Pinas City. They settled down in Sta. Maria, Ilocos Sur for 29 years and had 8 children.
Inang was widowed on October 7, 1978. After her beloved husband’s death, her sister, Esther Adsuara brought her and her children back to Las Pinas City.
Inang later immigrated to the United States on October of 1985. She primarily lived with her daughter, Regina, in Union City, California for the last 36 years.
She was the beloved mother to her children: Myrna, Regina(Dong), Gilmera(Fernando) Gloria(Calixto), Felix Jr, Rosario, Estella and Timoteo; grandchildren: Jean(Ryan), Myra(Jun) Jacqui, Douglas(Des) and Jonathan; great-grandchildren: Justin, Julia, Maliyah, Mateo, Jayson, Philip, Devin, Domi and a baby on the way.
In the US, Inang spent most of her days keeping busy around the house. She kept a garden full of chayote and a blooming calamansi tree. She loved to cook, and she made the best cascaron, palitaw and suman in town. Inang was an all around babysitter and turned so many strangers into family.
