Soni Saeko Guillot's Obituary
Soni Saeko (Oshiro) Guillot Dec. 13, 1923 – Nov. 28, 2011 Resident of Hayward Soni Saeko (Oshiro) Guillot, age 87 of Hayward, CA. passed away on November 28, 2011. Born December 13, 1923 in Hilo, Hawaii; Soni was one of eight children born to Kamasuke Oshiro and Taru Kaneshiro who immigrated from Okinawa Ken, Japan in 1906. Soni graduated from Hilo High School in 1941. She then moved to Honolulu where she received her cosmetologist certification from Marinello Beauty School. Following her schooling in Honolulu, Soni moved to New York City via Los Angeles. She began her early nursing career at Foundling Hospital in New York where she met her future husband, Henry. Upon relocating to California, Soni married Henry and had 3 children. Later she completed nursing school and received her RN at Chabot College in 1970, and had a rewarding nursing career in Alameda County. She was a devoted mother, full of kindness and compassion for others and was most happy when she was with her family and sharing her generosity with others. During her retirement, she volunteered with The American Cancer Society, Kaiser Hospital and other organizations. She formed strong lifelong friendships and was cherished by her sons and others who knew her loving spirit. She was predeceased by her 7 siblings and husband, Henry Guillot. Soni is survived by Victor Guillot (Leslie) of Avery, CA, Jeffrey Guillot (Trish) of Sacramento, CA, and grandchildren Stephen, Glen and Robin, and Douglas Guillot (Heather) of Seattle, WA and grandchildren Miles and Ansel.
