Yvonne Steiner

August 12, 1943 - February 3, 2021

Yvonne J. Steiner was born on August 12, 1943 in Oakland, California and passed away on February 3, 2021. Yvonne was raised and spent most of her early years in Oakland and as an adult she lived in Alameda and Castro Valley. She graduated from Castlemont High School and attended Heald College. Yvonne began her working career at the Naval Air Station in Alameda, leaving there to began her long working career in Alameda County. She worked in a number of different Departments and finally retiring from the Probation Department. After retirement, Yvonne volunteered for the Literacy Program which helped individuals to speak and write English, also helping at the Morrison Theater. Yvonne was very creative and talented, especially in the areas of needlepoint, stained glass, sewing and woodworking. She enjoyed reading and working on jigsaw puzzles. Yvonne loved to travel, visiting many places around the world. Also going to the Indian casinos, and playing bingo at the senior center. Yvonne will be remembered and missed by her friends and all who knew her.
