LUCILLE “LOU” HAEDICKE What a great life it has been for Lucille “Lou” Haedicke. She spent 98 loving years being the greatest Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, and friend to all. She believed in people and loved being around them. Lucille Ethel Dietz was born on May 8th, 1924 at home in Castro Valley, California, she lived a full life. Known for following her own schedule, growing up on her parents Chicken Ranch, attended Castro Valley Elementary School and Graduating from Hayward High School. While attending Redeemer Lutheran Church in Oakland, she met the love of her life at choir practice one evening, Don Haedicke. They were married on June 6th, 1948 and had 65 glorious years together until dad’s passing in 2014. She centered her life on her family being with them as much as possible. Volunteering at school activities, scouting, band mother, church groups many other organizations. Anything the family was involved in, so was she. She was always with Dad at Kiwanis functions and traveling to Conventions! Determined to live in her Castro Valley home by herself, she did so until three years ago when she moved to a wonderful private care facility in Roseville. She left us to join Dad in heaven on what would have been their 74th Wedding Anniversary, June 6, 2022. She is home again with everyone that preceded her passing. She will be missed by all of us but never forgotten. Lucille Ethel (Dietz) Haedicke is survived by her children, Ron Haedicke, Kathy Johnson (Walter), her grandchildren Michelle Duncan (Robert) and Michael Johnson (Sheryl), and her five great grandchildren, Hannah Duncan, Olivia Duncan, Hayden Johnson, Keegan Johnson and Taryn Johnson, and her nephew Scott McCall and niece Julie Sandhoffer (Joe) A Private Family Service will be held Thursday June 16th at 1:45pm at Chapel of the Chimes, Hayward, California followed by placement. A Celebration of her life will be held on August 6th in Roseville, California.
