Chapel of the Chimes Hayward features the beautiful Hillside Garden, with majestic views of San Francisco Bay. Unique gardens have been created to honor veterans, as well as Chinese, Korean, and Japanese cultures. Dedicated gardens are also reserved for members of select community groups. Among the countless options within our scenic park, in-ground burial remains one of the most popular choices among the families we serve. At Chapel of the Chimes Hayward, we offer two options for in-ground burial; traditional burial and lawn crypts.
Traditional BurialThe most traditional form of in-ground burial involves excavating a space individually when needed. All traditional burial at Chapel of the Chimes Hayward is done with an outer container, which protects the integrity of the casket and helps prevent the ground from sinking. Families who choose traditional burial may choose an upright monument (headstone), or a flush marker (which lies flat on the ground). Whether you prefer upright or flush, we can provide plenty of options for customizing your memorial to reflect the personality and legacy of the individual or family it honors. Ask for details.
Lawn CryptsLawn crypts offer some of the advantages of both in-ground burial and mausoleum interment. A lawn crypt is underground like traditional in-ground burial, but it has a burial chamber similar to a mausoleum. Since lawn crypts are pre-developed in groups, they are generally less expensive than traditional burial, while offering the same traditional appearance from above. Lawn crypts generally feature flush markers. Ask for details.
